This past six months has provided me with so much to be thankful for as we have watched God work in so many lives of our church. We have witnessed 15 individuals saved, numerous baptisms have taken place, individuals have grown, and our membership has increased to over 100, along with our giving. Faith Baptist Church is alive and moving forward for the Lord. During this period I have focused our Wednesday night and Sunday night message on personal growth and responsibility. We have covered discipleship, privileges of being a Christian, God’s power, a life worth living and many other subjects designed to place our focus on God’s truths thru His Word. Currently we are studying the books of I, II, III John. In Sunday school the Adult class has focused on the Book of Hebrews, and the Superiority of Christ in every area of our live. . During our Sunday morning services we have seen real growth in our numbers and our giving. The challenge has been issued to stand up and be heard as a believer in Christ. Our youth and children’s ministries have seen positive reaction to the Word of Life ministry. We are currently running about 6-10 teens on Sunday night and are very excited as we see what God can do in the lives of these youth. In that regard we have begun to plan for expansion of our facilities by purchasing a pre-built building for administration, as we have used up every last space and both Children’s rooms and storage are becoming a problem.
We are in the midst of a Bible reading program called E-100, in which a selected 100 passages from the Bible are read, allowing the individual to cover a majority of God’s Word in a given period of time. 76 individuals signed up and so far 27 have completed the readings.
Our youth are growing, as well as our Wednesday night programs, where we use Word of Life Clubs. Thanks to all the teachers and helpers who give so much time and effort for our children.
This year I was selected as a member of the Council of Ten for the Sunshine Baptist Fellowship. Faith will be the host church for the January 27, 2015, meeting of these Florida Pastors and their wives. Please pray that this position will afford our church the opportunity to capture some exciting outreach techniques and plans. May this allow us to explore what other churches of like faith are doing to reach their communities for Christ.
It is the joy of my life to be your pastor and I rejoice as I have witnessed those of you who have grown in the Lord and have committed their selves in service and in sacrifice to make this work here at Faith alive. Part of the ministry that is difficult is the loss and the hurting of many of our members. These last six months has been especially hard on those who have little and it is through your generosity and caring that we have been able to assist in feeding and providing for needs to many families and individuals. Many are ill and in need of your continual prayer
I will continue to preach the Word of God and to take a stand against the world and its vices. In the past year it has been laid on my heart to seek God’s direction and plan for this church. I believe we are on the right path and that we are about to see God work in a great way at Faith. Please join with me this year in committing ourselves to God and leaning on Him for guidance.
